Tues. August 10 - Phone call from accused puzzles witness
A man who hired Scott Watson to work on his boats says he didn't know how to interpret a phone call he had from the murder accused when police seized Watson's yacht.
Alasdair Cassels says Watson often helped him with various jobs on his boat and would buy spare yacht parts from him.
Mr Cassels says he sold Scott Watson an anchor, an anchor winch and chain.
The witness says Watson phoned him when police lifted his boat, Blade, out of the water at Waikawa Bay.
He says the accused quizzed him about whether police had dug up anything at his property in the Marlborough Sounds, and Mr Cassels says he didn't know how to interpret that question.
